Outpatient therapy sessions
Outpatient group therapy sessions are organised for children who are recovering from oncological diseases and for those who live with a chronic illness or psychosomatic disorder.
Each group is attended by 6-8 children of similar age and with similar problems. Programmes are developed according to the needs of the different target groups, with shorter group processes (approximately 10 sessions) and full-year processes (22-25 sessions). Children attend the therapy group on a weekly basis with two qualified therapists for 90-minute sessions.
During the sessions, difficult emotions are processed symbolically in the children’s language, through child psychodrama, storytelling and art therapy methods. This approach provides an opportunity for children to increase self-power, reduce stress levels and begin to reconnect with their peers in the safe micro-environment of the group. The skills they acquire and develop can help them in many areas of their lives.
