Fine Art Therapy

Fine Art Therapy works with visual expression, and places emphasis on the creative process rather than the resulting artwork. Visual expression opens a channel of communication that allows children to express their experiences in an intensive and complex way. Expressing their feelings through creating images on the drawing paper helps them to deal with the difficult emotions caused by the experience. Through art, children can reveal experiences and emotions that they cannot express verbally.

Fine Art therapy is a particularly good way of helping children to express and understand their emotions more deeply, as they prefer symbolic thinking instead of abstraction up to a certain age.
